Situated in one of the most famous zones in Australia for producing powerful wines, the Limestone Coast of South Australia, our Stonefields Vineyard is highly valued for its excellent soils and cool climate. It is by far our biggest vineyard and offers soils made up of classic terra rossa clay loams over limestone almost identical to its better known neighbouring area of Coonawarra. Other parts of the vineyard are made up of minor duplex brown loams over subsoils of red/orange clay and ironstone gravel and the combination of these soils make it a great place for our major varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz in reds and Pinot Grigio in white. Only the best parcels from this vineyard are selected to go into the Stonefields brand wines.
